Whilst Safeguarding is a comparatively recent term, the principles behind Safeguarding training are much the same as they have always been - to provide reasonable protection to persons who may be more vulnerable due to their age, illness, disability, or circumstances.
All children and some adults can be categorised as vulnerable, and the importance of quality training in this field cannot be under-estimated. Many roles either directly or indirectly come into contact with potential Safeguarding situations, often within Education, Care and Housing environments, but also within Social Work, Offending, Law Enforcement, Immigration and a host of other lines of work.
